Across Malawi, YOTADEF transforms youth and communities through vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and sports-based development. From startup kits to netball teams, we create pathways to income, employment, and personal growth. Here is what that looks like in practice.

What Our Impact Actually Looks Like

Impact for us isn't a number on a report — it's a woman moulding her first batch of soap to sell at the market, a youth group pressing their first cooking oil, a community that no longer has to buy what it can now make.

From Raw Ingredients to a Sellable Product

Trainees learn to mix caustic soda and oils, pour the mixture into wooden moulds, and allow bars to cure properly before cutting and packaging. These are the same bars sold in local markets and used in households daily — and now participants make and sell them themselves.

Startup Kit Includes

Caustic soda · Oils · Wooden moulds · Fragrance · Packaging materials

water_drop Body Oil Production

Natural Oils, Local Ingredients

Participants blend and bottle natural body oils using locally available raw materials, then learn to price, package and market their product for sale at community level.

Startup Kit Includes

Base oils · Fragrance · Bottles · Labels · Measuring tools

What Makes Us Different

Training Is Only Half the Work

Many programs teach skills and stop there. We don't. At the end of every training session, each participant receives a physical startup kit — the raw materials and tools they need to begin producing and selling immediately, without needing to find extra funding first.

No Waiting, No Extra Cost

Participants leave training ready to produce on day one. The kit removes the gap between learning and earning.

Every Participant, Not Just Some

Kits are distributed to every individual in the group — not one per group, one per person — so everyone has the means to start their own micro-enterprise.

Donor-Funded, Community-Owned

Each startup kit is funded entirely by donations. When you give to YOTADEF, this is exactly where your money goes — into someone's hands, on the day it matters most.

Sports for Development

Kalulu Queens Netball

Beyond the workshop and the training kit, YOTADEF backs the Kalulu Queens netball team as proof that youth development happens on the court just as much as in the classroom. Match by match, the team builds the same skills we teach everywhere else — discipline, teamwork, and leadership — while opening a real pathway into coaching and sport-related employment.

Netball as Life-Skills Training

Regular matches and training sessions with the Kalulu Queens build teamwork, discipline, and resilience — the same character traits at the core of every YOTADEF program.

A Team the Community Rallies Around

Kalulu Queens events double as community gatherings, extending YOTADEF's reach to youth who might never walk into a training hall.

Make an Impact

Your Donation Funds a Startup Kit

One donation = one person trained + one startup kit in their hands on the same day. That is the direct line between your support and someone's livelihood beginning.
